So sorry for the short notice on this. Along with other schools across Iowa we invite you to wear orange tomorrow, August 29th, to honor the memory of Robert Adams from the Van Buren County Community School District. Robert, a junior at Van Buren County, tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday morning while driving to work. Although Robert did not attend WLCSD, we join in mourning the loss of a student, friend, and family member. We extend our deepest condolences to Robert's family and all who knew him.

Just posting this here in preparation for the first day of school on Friday! If you are traveling on a two- or three-lane road, Approaching the bus from the rear: -When you see flashing red or amber warning lights, you are not permitted to pass the school bus and should be prepared to stop. -When the school bus stops and the stop arm is extended, stop behind the school bus. -Stop no closer than 15 feet from the rear of the bus, and remain stopped until the stop arm is retracted and the school bus starts moving again. Then proceed with caution. Meeting the bus from the front: -When you see amber warning lights flashing you must slow your vehicle to no more than 20 mph and be prepared to stop. -When the school bus stops and its stop arm is extended, stop in front of the school bus. Remain stopped until the stop arm is retracted. Then proceed with caution. Infinite Campus Parent Portal is now used for school fee payment! We were finally able to transition to Infinite Campus for student fees (current and past registrations, activities, lost items, etc.). Once logged into your Parent Portal account, you can find "Fees" in the menu. You can use the drop-down menu at the top to view fees by school year. To pay the fees, add them to your cart and complete your transaction. You can also add money to your child's lunch accounts by going to the "Food Service" menu option.
