West Liberty Community School District has partnered with River Bend Food Bank to provide the Healthy Kids Iowa program to families in need who have children ages 4-18. Families will be able to visit our Summer Lunch pick-up locations and provide their completed application, self-attesting eligibility to be approved for the program. Each child will receive up to $40 of healthy food for the month of July. Our August distribution date will be announced soon.
Our July Distribution will take place on Tuesday, July 22nd, at the sites and times listed in the flyer below.
Every family must fill out and present this application to receive food (printed forms will be available at our Summer Lunch locations, and the West Liberty Food Pantry, so you can pick them up to fill out ahead of time. Healthy Kids Iowa food is only available once per month, for the months of June, July, and August. Eligible families may only visit one site per month to receive Healthy Kids Iowa foods. For more information about this program, please visit: hhs.iowa.gov/healthy-kids-iowa
Healthy Kids Iowa WLCSD Distribution Sites and pick-up times:
Please be advised that each box, along with additional refrigerated /frozen items, will weigh approximately 28 lbs. This will be a lot for one person to carry, you will want to bring a vehicle, wagon, or some way to transport these food items home.
You can send someone else to pick up the food as long as they have your completed and signed application form.
