Students in grades 4-11 are invited to participate in the Comet Readers Summer Book Club! Finish 5 books over the summer and get a cool t-shirt in the fall! Stop into the Middle School or High School library for details! Sign-up ends on May 16th.


Mrs. Edwards is preparing the 8th grade algebra students for guests from Rockwell Collins to teach the class about coding!


A group of 8th graders had a great experience on their field trip to the Devonian Fossil Gorge and Van Allen, which houses the college of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa!

Happy (late) Earth Day! The rain pushed them back a day, but Mr. Beal's class and Middle School Student Council collaborated for an Earth Day project! They picked up trash around the building and worked on the flower beds!






Today, we celebrate our WLCSD secretaries! They are our office heroes, saving the day by making a child smile, helping a staff member, answering a parent's question, and jumping into action when needed. Thank you for all you do! Happy Administrative Professionals Day!

Photos from yesterday's Music Enrichment class field trip to Mr. Miller's music studio, "The Vault" in downtown West Liberty! The students toured the studio and recorded an original song!

Mr. Swearingen and Ms. Morrison's 5th Grade Total Wellness Classes drew posters to put up throughout the town to remind everybody of Earth Day on April 22nd!

7th graders have been completing a unit on informational texts. They read "The Last Human Light" and "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind," a story about a young man who brought electricity to his village in Malawi. Literacy students helped bring a little light to the middle school "village."

Reminder for WLMS students and staff to order your Last Day of School Shirt! Sales end this Friday, April 18th. Shirts are $15 each and can be ordered through the Infinite Campus Middle School Store or through the Middle School Office!


In the 2025 National Civics Bee held in Des Moines, Olivia DeShazo placed 4th and Georgia Clark placed 1st! Both girls were given free tablets, and Georgia was awarded $500. Georgia will go on to the next round in August to compete against 11 other finalists for $1000 and the chance to go to to Washington D.C.
