Seven 8th grade students traveled with Mrs. Henderson to the Go Further Conference at Iowa State University last week! They learned about STEM based classes and careers and met with women who were studying and working in an engineering field. We appreciate that we were able to take 2 groups of students this year, one in the fall and one in the spring!



The Middle School has two new school record holders in the pacer test. Maddex Maurer & Pierre Shield (6th grade) set the record at 118! Good work, Comets!!

Sixth grade art students worked on creating advertisements for local businesses. Tim Evans presented each student with a New Strand Theatre movie ticket and a ticket for popcorn and soda. Callen Thompson was chosen as the winner of a bike from Muscatine Walmart! #art #community

Sixth grade Comets have started their Greek Mythology unit! Yesterday they read an article on Ancient Greeks and today Gaia (Mother Earth) visited Ms. Garcia's ELA classes to help kick off the, "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" book unit.





8th grade Art Exploratory class finished making their symbolic self-portraits and started working with clay this week! We've included pictures of their work below. Our 6th grade students are partnering with Tim Evans at the West Liberty Index to draw ads for local WL businesses!
