WLCSD will continue with the hybrid model

To ensure the safety of our students and staff, West Liberty Community School District will continue to use our hybrid learning model until conditions improve.  Our virtual option is still available to all families who do not feel comfortable having their children attend school via the hybrid model.   We require that students who choose virtual learning remain virtual for one full trimester, if they wish to change to the hybrid model for the next trimester they may contact their building principal before the start of the new trimester to make arrangements.

The time has come to make your learning model decision for 2nd trimester.  Families have until Friday, November 20th to contact their child(ren)'s school to let them know if they wish to change to the hybrid learning model.  If they wish to remain virtual there is no need to contact the school.

We continue to meet with Trinity Muscatine Public Health and cases in our area continue to climb (Current Iowa % Positive by County).  It seems that our hybrid model has been helping to control the spread in our school district, please see the WLCSD COVID 19 Tracker for our day to day case counts.  The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority and we do not want to make any adjustments to our Return to Learn Plan that may increase our risk of spreading COVID 19.  We will continue to follow the Iowa Department of Education's Return to Learn Guidance and meet regularly with Trinity Muscatine Public Health  to evaluate our current position.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward during this difficult time.
