Happy Spirit Week from Educators Rising! Thank you for all of the support from teachers, parents, and administrators as we have gotten our chapter off the ground. Our goal is to support future educators, help them reach their goals, and provide opportunities along the way. #EdRising25 @EducatorsRising

Our future teachers in Educators Rising all have many teachers in their lives who have influenced them. Thank you to each teacher in our Comet family, current and former, who has influenced their lives for the better! #EdRising25 @EducatorsRising

Educators Rising students have been learning more about the policies that make up the “unseen” side of the education world. These students will be learning about laws and policies, and hearing about the world of teaching from future teachers at the University of Iowa. We will be presenting to the School Board this spring, discussing our experience at the Iowa State Educators Rising Conference, and some students will be competing with research projects and speeches highlighting the various points of view on the more difficult or new issues that teachers see in the classroom. #EdRising25 @EducatorsRising

Happy Educators Rising Spirit Week! We are excited to spotlight some future educators this week and show you the wonderful things they have been up to in our first year here in West Liberty. Students have been using their open periods to get out into the elementary classrooms, volunteering their time, and working with kids. Through this experience, they are learning more about the education field and what a day in the life of a teacher looks like! #EdRising25 @EducatorsRising

This week we celebrate and show our appreciation for our amazing WLCSD counselors! They help our Comets shine academically, socially, and emotionally. We encourage you to take some time this week to thank our counselors for their hard work and dedication!

Ann Mincks, Iowa Department of Education's 2024 Iowa Teacher of the Year had a busy day visiting ELL and Dual Language classrooms throughout our district! She really enjoyed meeting with teachers, and learning about our Dual Language Program. She plans to visit 30 Iowa school districts during her time as Teacher of the Year, and we are honored to be one of them!

Tonight is ELPA Parent Night starting at 6:00 pm in the High School Library! We hope to see our ELL families there!

ATTN: Junior Parents: Believe it or not, prom is just around the corner! There will be one more opportunity for you to sign up to send something through a Sign-up Genius for items for the actual after prom event so be on the lookout for that!
If you cannot participate in the last sign-up, we still need funds to purchase prizes and pay for entertainment. Please consider donating anything you can to help with this special event. The QR code is in the graphic below. Thank you so much!
