Construction Update

Progress continues on the new ELC and Elementary remodel project.  Construction crews continue to get classroom cabinets installed, wiring, and interior painting.

Another busy and productive week at the West Liberty Food Athletic Complex. Crews have started laying down the rock sub-base for the 8-lane track. You will also notice the enormous amount of rock sitting on what will be the football and soccer field. That is the rock sub-base for that area of the complex.

The concrete footings for all of the light poles have been installed. New lights for the baseball field and the stadium will be installed soon. The current softball lights used behind the elementary school will be taken down and brought across town to be installed at the new field as well.
A crew arrived yesterday (Thursday) to begin work on the stadium bleachers. When completed, these bleachers will have a larger capacity than the current bleachers at Memorial Field and will have handicap seating available.
Late in the week:
- plumbers and electricians began laying out their work around the complex.
- tiling work in and around the baseball and softball fields is continuing.
- footings have been installed for the softball backstop padding.
The West Liberty Community School District, along with the workers would like to thank the public for staying away from the construction site. We all know how excited the community is to see the progress - we will continue to share videos and pictures as this work continues.
As a reminder, if you would still like to donate to the athletic complex project, please contact Activities Director Adam Loria at aloria@wl.k12.ia.us. There are many great opportunities available to recognize your business or family, including the stadium bleacher sections, and other areas and equipment around the complex.
