West Liberty Community School District is proud to announce an extraordinary achievement by incoming freshman Georgia Clark, who claimed first place in the 2025 National Civics Bee Iowa State Finals! The competition, held yesterday at Simpson College, showcases young minds passionate about civic engagement and community service.
Clark advanced through all three rounds of the challenging quiz event to secure the state championship. Her journey began with a standout essay that earned her a spot among just 20 regional finalists selected to compete in the Iowa Chamber Alliance live finals.
"She worked all summer studying government and history to clinch this win," shares Melanie Clark, Georgia's mother and West Liberty High School History teacher. Georgia's hard work and dedication paid off as her victory has earned her a spot in the National Civics Bee National Championship, scheduled for November in Washington, D.C!
