Cole Daufeldt was one of only four FFA members nationwide selected as a national finalist in Turf Grass and Landscape Management for his Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE) work. Cole worked at the West Liberty Golf and Country Club (WLCC) for the past five years as a golf course assistant. Cole played a major role in the purchases made by WLCC to improve ground maintenance and helped the country club invest in approximately $100,000 worth of maintenance equipment. He is also one of the youngest members on the West Liberty Golf and Country Club Board of Directors. Cole was awarded Reserve National Champion at the 2025 National FFA Convention, 2nd to Tucker Snook from Cambridge FFA in Illinois. Congratulations Cole!

Cole is one of six National Finalists in West Liberty FFA's history: Gracie Danner (Beef Production), Lindsey Laughlin (Nursery Operations), Blaze Maas (Wildlife Managment), Morgan Hodge (2023 Outdoor Recreation National Champion), and his brother Cael Daufeldt (2025 Poultry Production National Champion).
Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences (SAEs), have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Students compete in areas ranging from agricultural communications to wildlife management. Proficiency awards are also recognized at local and state levels and provide recognition to members exploring and becoming established in agricultural career pathways.
