Update on Construction of the West Liberty High School Activity Center
The West Liberty Community School District is pleased to share the latest update on the construction of the new Activity Center at West Liberty High School. While progress has slowed in recent weeks, work remains steady and forward-moving as contractors navigate weather impacts and await final footing specifications from the building manufacturer. Once those specifications are received, crews are prepared to resume full construction activity.

The week's rendering offers an exciting look at what's ahead. The view is taken from the elevated track on the west side of the building, looking back toward the east. Key features highlighted in the rendering include:

Second Floor

- North (left) side: Three full-length batting cages designed to support both high school baseball and softball programs, as well as local youth programs.

- South (right) side): A spacious new weight room capable of accommodating up to 20 racks, providing expanded training opportunities for student-athletes.

First Floor

- Large indoor turf field: A 40-yard-long, full-width (official football width) turf area ideal for multi-sport training, physical education, marching band, community use, and more.

- Main entrance: Visible in the rendering, offering a preview of the facility's primary access point.

- Additional spaces: A trainer's room, team meeting room, golf practice area, team storage, restrooms, an official's locker room, and mechanical room - all designed to support comprehensive student and athlete needs.

Contractors remain eager to return to full operations and continue making visible progress as soon as conditions allow.

We would like to remind all students, staff, families, and community members that the construction zone remains an active work area. Please stay out of the fenced-in perimeter and remain alert to construction vehicles entering and exiting the high school campus. Your cooperation ensures the safety of everyone involved.

We look forward to sharing continued updates as the exciting project moves ahead. Thank you for your ongoing support of the West Liberty Community School District and this transformative addition to our campus.
