Construction on the new West Liberty Activities Center at West Liberty High School continues to move forward, with significant progress made this week by contractors on site.

One of the major milestones now underway is the drilling of piers that will help support the foundation of the building. Contractors have begun this critical phase, which involves drilling close to 300 piers across the site. The small pink flags visible within the fenced area mark the location where each pier will be drilled.

Two large pieces of equipment currently on site are being used for this work. Once drilled, the holes will be filled with rock to create a strong and stable base for the structure. To support this effort, approximately 300 tons of rock will be delivered to the site each day over the next couple of weeks until the pier work is complete.

As construction activity increases, we want to remind all students, staff, and community members that the area inside the construction fence is an active construction zone and is not accessible to the public. Everyone is asked to remain outside fenced areas and to stay alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the high school campus.

The district appreciates the cooperation and patience of the school community as this exciting project continues to take shape. Additional updates will be shared as construction progresses.
