Week 11 Construction Progress

Construction continues to move forward on the new Activities Building at West Liberty High School, with significant foundation work taking place this week.

Contractors have been actively installing the 349 rock piers that will help support the new structure. Each pier extends approximately 15 to 20 feet into the ground, providing a strong and stable foundation for the building. This phase of the project is expected to wrap up next week, weather permitting.

Once the rock pier installation is complete, crews will begin the next phase of construction, which includes digging footings near the south end of the high school. In the coming weeks, contractors will also relocate a fiber line that feeds the athletic complex from the high school to ensure continued connectivity and accommodate the new construction.

As work progresses, students, staff, and community members are reminded that the construction site remains an active work zone. For everyone's safety, please stay out of the fenced-in construction area at all times. Additionally, motorists and pedestrians should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the high school campus.

We appreciate the continued patience and cooperation of our school community as we make progress on this exciting addition to our district facilities. Additional updates will be shared as construction advances.
