Construction on the new Activities Center at West Liberty High School continues to make progress as crews complete key foundation milestones and transition into the next phase of work.
Contractors have finished drilling more than 350 aggregate piers and have installed helical piers in preparation for the building footings. All ground improvement work is now complete, providing a solid foundation for the structure.
This past week, crews began pouring footings and preparing foundation walls in the area where the new Activities Center will connect to the existing high school building. These steps represent significant forward movement as the project begins to take visible shape.
Work will continue next week with footing installation around the perimeter of the building, along with underground plumbing work.
As construction progresses, district officials remind students, staff and community members to stay out of the fenced construction area at all times. The site is an active construction zone and is restricted for safety reasons. Please also be mindful of construction traffic entering and exiting the high school campus and use caution when traveling near the work zone.
The district appreciates the community's continued patience and support as this exciting project moves forward. Additional updates will be provided as construction continues.
