West Liberty Community School District warmly welcomes Marcie Jedlicka as our new Early Learning Center (ELC) and Elementary Assistant Principal and District Special Education Director beginning next school year. We are excited to welcome Marcie to our Comet family and to share the wonderful learning community we have here in West Liberty!
From Assistant Principal Jedlicka:
I am honored and excited to be the new Assistant Principal at West Liberty ELC and Elementary. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to join such a welcoming and student-centered school community!
My name is Marcie Jedlicka, and I have spent my career serving students and educators in early childhood and elementary education. Most recently, I worked as a Preschool Lead Support Teacher with the Iowa City Community School District, supporting teachers, students, and families across multiple elementary buildings. Prior to that position, I taught for 24 years in the Tipton Community School District. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about building strong relationships, supporting high-quality instruction, and creating positive learning environments where all students feel valued and successful.
As I learned more about West Liberty ELC and Elementary, I was immediately drawn to the school’s commitment to students, families, collaboration, and growth. I look forward to partnering with staff, families, and the community to continue the strong work already happening within the building. I believe schools are most successful when relationships are at the center, and I am excited to become part of the West Liberty community.
I am especially excited to get to know the students and families who make West Liberty such a special place. I look forward to listening, learning, supporting, and celebrating alongside you throughout the school year.
Thank you, Marcie, for joining our Comet family! We look forward to working with you to build strong relationships and continue providing the best learning environment possible for our students and staff.
