Construction continues to move forward on the new West Liberty High School Activities Building, with crews making progress despite the rain this week.

Masonry crews are continuing to build the interior walls on the east side of the building. As the walls go up, the first-floor layout is becoming much easier to see, including future storage rooms, the team room, the golf area, restrooms, and the building's main entrance. Plumbing and electrical systems are also continuing to be installed as construction progresses.

On the west side of the building, crews are focused on the main shell of the structure, including the installation of beams and columns. This work is helping define the large open turf area, and the overall footprint of that space is becoming much more visible each week.

"It's exciting to see more of the building taking shape and to watch each area become easier to visualize," said West Liberty High School Activities Director Adam Loria. "Even with some weather-related delays this week, contractors continue to make excellent progress."

West Liberty Schools continues to anticipate completion of the Activities Building by the end of December 2026.

As construction remains ongoing, the public is reminded that this is an active construction zone. For safety reasons, please stay out of the fenced-in construction area at all times. Community members are also asked to remain alert and watch for construction vehicle traffic on and around the high school campus.
