Construction on the new West Liberty High School Activities Building continues to make exciting progress as the building begins to take shape on the West Liberty High School campus.

In recent weeks, crews have made significant advancements throughout the project. Steel beams are being set throughout the building, and the roof is now finished in the area connecting the new activities building to the high school. Installation of the elevator has begun, while work on the building's sprinkler system is also underway.

Another exciting milestone is the beginning of installation of the steel structure for the track. As work continues, the size and scope of the new facility are becoming increasingly visible.

"We are excited to see the continued progress on the project and look forward to seeing even more take shape in the coming weeks," said West Liberty Activities Director Adam Loria. "This building is a game changer for our community. We are incredibly fortunate to have a facility like this right here on our campus that will provide opportunities and resources for all of our students."

Community members attending tonight's volleyball and football scrimmages will have a great opportunity to see the progress firsthand. As you make your way between volleyball and football, take a look at the building and see how much has changed in the past few weeks. It is exciting to watch this project come to life.

While we encourage everyone to check out the progress, please remember that the construction area remains off limits. Do not enter the fenced-in construction zone.

The new activities building will provide West Liberty students with expanded spaces and resources to support athletics and activities while creating additional opportunities for students across the district.

Construction is expected to continue in the coming weeks and months, with additional structural, mechanical and interior work taking place throughout the project.

As construction continues, students, parents, staff and community members are reminded that the project area remains an active construction zone. For everyone's safety:

  • Please stay out of the fenced-in construction area.

  • Do not enter the construction site, even when crews are not actively working.

  • Please use caution and watch for construction vehicles entering and exiting the high school campus.

The West Liberty Community School District appreciates everyone's patience and cooperation as this exciting project continues. We look forward to sharing additional updates as construction progresses and the new West Liberty High School Activities Building moves closer to completion.
