Hello parents!
We are upgrading our grading practices here at the elementary, in hopes to keep all parents more informed on a regular basis. We are moving to having our teachers put assignments and grades into Infinite Campus. This will allow all parents to use the parent portal to check your child(ren)’s grades on a regular basis. This is what our Middle and High School currently does for grading. This is very beneficial for parents to know where their child’s learning is. A few teachers in the elementary school will be piloting this in the 2nd trimester. Our next steps if all goes well, will be that all elementary teachers will be implementing this grading in Infinite Campus during the 3rd trimester.
What this means is that some parents will be seeing grades posted for their child throughout the 2nd trimester in all of the content areas. We are not including essentials during this pilot phase. Graded assignments will be put in Infinite Campus that will be averaged out for their final grade. Therefore, you will notice their grades will change regularly based on the assignments. If you have any questions or concerns about this process please reach out to your child’s teacher.
If you have not set up your parent portal access, please call the elementary office and they will assist you with getting this set up.

Estamos mejorando nuestras prácticas de calificación de la escuela elementaria con la esperanza de informarles con más frecuencia. Los maestros están agregando asignaciones en Infinite Campus. Esto permitirá que todos los padres usen el portal para padres para verificar las calificaciones de sus hijos/as de manera más regular. Esto es lo que nuestra escuela intermedia y secundaria hace actualmente para calificar. Esto es muy beneficioso para que los padres sepan dónde está el aprendizaje de sus hijo/as. Algunos maestros de la escuela primaria estarán probando este sistema en el segundo trimestre. Nuestros próximos pasos, si todo va bien, será que todos los maestros de elementaria implementarán agregar las calificaciones en Infinite Campus durante el tercer trimestre.
Lo que esto significa es que algunos padres verán las calificaciones publicadas para sus hijos/as durante el segundo trimestre en todas las áreas de contenido. No estamos incluyendo las clases esenciales durante esta fase piloto. Las tareas calificadas se colocarán en Infinite Campus y se promediarán para su calificación final. Por lo tanto, notará que sus calificaciones cambiarán regularmente según las asignaciones. Si tiene alguna pregunta o duda sobre este proceso, comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo/a.
