DUSTY AND STACEY FELDMAN GIVE $10,000 TO THE
ATHLETIC COMPLEX

School District weight trainer and wife give to the school.

WEST LIBERTY, IA – Dusty and Stacey Feldman, owners of Feldman Performance based out of West Liberty, are giving $10,000 to the West Liberty School District athletic complex.  The young couple, and parents to two young daughters, and are pledging money to help buy a video board for the new football stadium.  The new video board will be a larger, enhanced version of the current board which will be repurposed for the high school gym.

“The new video board will be a nice addition when we build the stadium,” said Activities Director, Adam Loria.  “Moving the current video board to the high school gym will also be great.  Most schools already have something like that in their gym, so we are getting added benefits out of this gift.  Dusty has been great to work with and I’m very thankful for his and Stacey’s support on this project.”

Dusty and Stacey own Feldman Performance, and 24-hour gym that offers workout facilities, classes, and customized training programs.  Dusty is also the weight trainer for all student-athletes in the West Liberty district and runs the weight room.

“As the weight trainer for the school, and a parent in the district, I’m happy to see this project becoming a reality,” said Dusty.  “It’s been discussed for a long time, and it’s finally happening.  It’s definitely time if West Liberty is going to compete with other schools.”

Dusty is a West Liberty High School graduate, but his wife Stacey graduated from a larger high school by Cedar Rapids.

“I’ve seen what larger districts can provide their students and I want that for West Liberty,” said Stacey.  “We are a smaller school, so it takes fundraising to get these types of things done.  It’s worth it to help our kids compete on a level playing field.”

Athletics are a big focus of the construction project, but the fine arts programs will be impacted as well. The new indoor facility will have 50 yards of turf to give the band adequate indoor practice space in cold-weather months and inclement weather.

“Dusty was an athlete, and I was on the dance team, so we are happy this project will impact the fine arts as well,” said Stacey.  “The indoor facility will be a nice practice space for cheer and dance.”

The school administration has a busy schedule this summer with the ELC construction project, letting bids for the new athletic complex, and strategic planning sessions focused on moving the district forward.

“My first year has been busy, but productive,” said Superintendent Shaun Kruger.  “We are juggling several major projects and initiatives and I’m pleased with the progress.  The best part of my day is taking time out to meet with these families and donors to the project.  I really appreciate the support I’ve received in this first year, and I want to thank Dusty and Stacey for giving to the district.”
