October 13th Family Update

Good Afternoon,

I hope that this email finds you and your family well.  I wanted to send a communication to let you know about a couple of things.

First- If your child(ren) is taking only virtual learning and you plan to change to the hybrid learning model you have until Friday, November 20th, 2020 to request this change.   Please be sure to contact your building principal as soon as possible with your request.  Remember the last day to change from Virtual to Hybrid is November 20, 2020.

Second- Traveling increases your chance of being exposed to COVID-19. To help keep everyone safe in the West Liberty Community School District, we will be requiring that your child(ren) stays out of school 14 days from your last day of international travel. Please contact your building administrator before the travel time so that appropriate learning arrangements can be made for your family and so that we can set your child’s return to school date.

Any time that you are traveling, please remember to social distance, wear a mask, and wash your hands often! We must all work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and we appreciate your help. Below you will find additional information from the CDC on traveling safely during the current COVID-19 Pandemic. Please note that you should adhere to any CDC requirements around state to state travel.

We will all get through this together!  I appreciate all of your help so far this year, I know that it has not been easy to adjust to this new way of learning.  Thank you in advance for your help as we continue to find safe ways to provide learning for our students.  We could not do this without your help!

Thank You,

Dr. Diego F. Giraldo

Superintendent

West Liberty Community School District
