8th grade students were able to catch the eclipse safely!



4th graders were visited by Myron McReynolds from Orchestra Iowa for a special STEAM activity! They were given parts to build their own Tone Generator. When they finished they got to take it home with them! Thanks, Orchestra Iowa!









Mrs. Martinez's student teacher, Ms Freyermuth, along with a generous donation from the Muscatine HyVee, was able to secure 55 pair of eclipse glasses. Students were keeping a (covered) eye on the scientific event today!

Students were able to safely observe the solar eclipse today!









A group of WLHS students attended Latino Family Day at Muscatine Community College on Saturday hosted by Daniel Salazar, with Susan Clark Translator/Host Maria Sneath. They were able to learn about academy programs, and scholarships and tour the MCC campus.





5th grade applying their engineering skills! They built prototypes of skyscrapers and tested them for height and stability. They also applied their knowledge of severe weather and tested their structures for safety during a tornado and a flood.







Kaden earned a 2nd place medal for Varsity Male in Handicap and a 3rd place medal for Varsity Male in Doubles on Saturday.
He will compete next Saturday at home against Bettendorf and Iowa City and next Sunday at home against Highland. #trapshooting #wlcomets


3rd and 4th graders were visited by Grammy award winning cellist, Zuill Bailey while he was in Iowa performing with Orchestra Iowa. We loved getting to speak with him, hear him play, and listen to him talk about music!

Kaden Hodge competed this past weekend in a Trap meet against Solon. He earned 1st place in Varsity Male for Singles and 2nd place in Varsity Male for Handicap.
