As our third meeting with AIM, third grade students learned about immigration and citizenship with Rosa Mendoza from The Diversity Service Center of Iowa. She taught the students about why and how people immigrate from other countries, what the citizenship process looks like, and showed the students gifts given to the DSC from people who have immigrated to Muscatine County from countries all over the world.

To celebrate Earth day, the district is planting 72 trees, 10 of which will be at the ELC and Elementary. There will be 18 high schoolers going around to different locations to dig and plant the trees for us :)
A HUGE shoutout to Melia Larson and our PTO for helping make this happen. Kindergarten is helping plant three of the trees as they have a Tree Unit that they teach each year.

Local business partners came to discuss their company and all the different careers and opportunities available within that company. Work-based learning events are structured opportunities for students to interact with employers either at school, or at the worksite. The purpose of WBL is to build student awareness of potential careers and to facilitate student exploration of career opportunities.
