Sixth grade Comets have started their Greek Mythology unit! Yesterday they read an article on Ancient Greeks and today Gaia (Mother Earth) visited Ms. Garcia's ELA classes to help kick off the, "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" book unit.

Students in Ms. Castello's 4th grade class are studying renewable and nonrenewable resources in science. For nonrenewable resources, they mined "coal" (chocolate chips) out of "rock/caves" (cookies).

Students in Ms. Castello's 4th grade class are studying renewable and nonrenewable resources in science. For renewable resources, they built vehicles out of materials provided and then blew on them to see if wind energy would make them work.

We found 4th grade Comets warming up in P.E. Class with some cardio drumming today! Cardio drumming uses drumsticks, and a bucket (or exercise ball), students are able to mix in fun moves while drumming along to music. What a fun and rhythmic way to warm up!

It's time for the Elementary Main Event! Check out all of these trustworthy Comets!

March snow makes the BEST snowmen!!! Or at least that's what we hear from Comets at the ELC!

8th grade Art Exploratory class finished making their symbolic self-portraits and started working with clay this week! We've included pictures of their work below. Our 6th grade students are partnering with Tim Evans at the West Liberty Index to draw ads for local WL businesses!

Congratulations to our freshmen! They had the best attendance for second trimester and earned some time in the gym and cookies during Advisement on Wednesday. A BIG thank you to West Liberty State Bank for sponsoring the cookies!

Elementary TAG Mystery Meet with Kelly Daufeldt!
Today 4th grade TAG students did a Mystery Meet. The way it works is, we connect with another teacher/class in the country and the students take turns asking yes/no geographical questions until they can narrow down the state that we have connected with. Afterward, we share information and fun facts about each other's city and state. It was our 6th time meeting with another state's class. Today we connected with 4th-grade students in a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas!

Our Preschoolers are LOVING this March snow!
