Our third graders are excited to work with Aligned Impact Muscatine County (AIM) again this year! Today we hosted Ann Green from ISU Extension and Outreach. She taught a STEM lesson and helped students build tracks to race Hex Bugs. Everyone had a great time!

Last week, Ms. Clark and her student teacher, Mr. Staab, took their Dual Credit US History class to the Federal Judiciary Youth Summit in Davenport with Sen. Grassley! What a great opportunity for these students!


2nd grade learned all about string instruments and how they make sound in a very special performance from Maestro Tim and Orchestra Iowa's String Quartet. We loved learning and listening to their music, thanks Orchestra Iowa!








A group of West Liberty Juniors participated in a League of United Latin American Citizens visit to the University of Iowa. They toured campus, learned about the application process, and visited the Iowa Women's Archives. #wlcomets #collegevisit

Mr. Laughlin took a group of students to compete in a Junior Achievement Competition today at Kents Feeds in Muscatine. The group, made up of Laney Esmoil, Nellie Stagg, Kaden Broder, and Tytan Griffith , placed second and will compete in next weeks competition in Davenport!

First grade's trip to the public library for celebrity story time!
They learned about the street sweeper, garbage truck and got to see inside a fire engine.



4th graders were visited by Myron McReynolds from Orchestra Iowa for a special STEAM activity! They were given parts to build their own Tone Generator. When they finished they got to take it home with them! Thanks, Orchestra Iowa!









8th grade students were able to catch the eclipse safely!



Mrs. Martinez's student teacher, Ms Freyermuth, along with a generous donation from the Muscatine HyVee, was able to secure 55 pair of eclipse glasses. Students were keeping a (covered) eye on the scientific event today!

Students were able to safely observe the solar eclipse today!









A group of WLHS students attended Latino Family Day at Muscatine Community College on Saturday hosted by Daniel Salazar, with Susan Clark Translator/Host Maria Sneath. They were able to learn about academy programs, and scholarships and tour the MCC campus.
