Mrs. Madsen's 6th Grade Science Enrichment class finally completed their March/April Madness Bridge Building Competition!
Groups built 8 different bridges from K'Nex and engaged them in a head-to-head load bearing competition. The winning bridge type was the Short Span Beam which held 17,655 grams of steel weights! That's 38.9 lbs! Thanks to Mr. Gross and Wertzbaugher Services for the extra steel needed to fully test these bridges.
Groups were then assigned one of the four weakest bridges and had to re-engineer them to hold more weight, using what they had learned about bridge supports. So much STEM FUN!
